Bow position
Now we all know that female rangers fire their bows horizontally while males fire vertically. Also,Sins(and I'm not sure which other classes) also fire horizontally while warriors fire vertically.
What I'm wondering is what kind of style everyone likes. As in if you could choose how you hold your bow would you want to fire vertically, or horizontally?

That would be quite nice actually. In addition choosing which is you "Main" hand would be cool. So if your left handed, you can wield your weapon on your left.
I mean its something I notice and would like to change, but it doesn't keep me up at night hehe.

I have to say I'm a fan of the style the female ritualist uses to fire a bow. There's a real flourish to the style and I have to really resist turning mine into a splinter barrager a lot of the time.
I've done a touch of archery in my time but have only ever fired vertically so I'd have to say that. As for Tasha... well I doubt she'd be able to hold Drago's Flatbow at shoulder height without it digging into the ground, so I think I have to say horizontally

Male Rangers can fire a bow horizontally with some attack skills.
edit:
[skill]Crippling Shot[/skill]
[skill]Pin Down[/skill]
I prefer the vertical firing.

I'm a traditionalist so it has to be vertically, there isn't any other way of drawing a bow sufficiently.
It just wouldn't have any worthwhile range or power, bring in magic and of course it might work, after all we do have an endless arrow supply.
Would like to see crossbows turning up, maybe the asura will design a few.
Repeating crossbow "Chu-ko-nu" for the asura,Low damage and range high fire rate.
Heavy crossbows and stonebows for the Dwarves and Charr Medium damage fire rate as for slowest of the standard game bows.
Huge siege arbelast for the Norn, slow fire rate but greater damage and knockdown.
Anyone else like to see crossbows ?

I suppose this isnt exactly related but I allways piss myself when i see a male rit use a scythe
After casting any spell notice they seem to fall asleep on the spot - Wobbling at a bit
Im starting to think that scythe might be a bit heavy.....

While it doesn't keep me awake at night, I'd prefer it if my female ranger fired vertically. Horizontal just looks odd to me.

Horizontally is better for close range and vertical aiming.
Vertical is better for long range and horizontal aiming.
The position should be horizontal with the Short bow and short range/low aiming skills and vertical with the long bow and long range and arrow speed up skills (like under the effects of favorable winds)

Prefer vertically, but I find horizontal firing rather amusing x].

Thinking about it, I imagine all the bows I've ever fired would be pretty useless horizontally, there'd be no way to draw the bow enough to produce any kind of reasonable shot, arrows would just bump into targets instead of causing any damage.
I guess horizontally would work with smaller tighter bows.

Yes. She kind of squats when she shoots. If there is not a Ranger in the group my Rit usually does the pulling. I keep a long bow on hand just in case.

Horizontal. To me it has more of an "in battle" feeling. Vertical makes me think I'm laying siege on a castle or something.

How weird... my female ranger holds her bow vertically (perpendicular to the ground), not horizontally to the ground. And I went googling to find out what else firing a bow horizontally or vertically might mean. I couldn't find anything.
Help! I'm confused.

Really now... I've never seen that before, every female ranger (including my own) that i've seen has held their bow horizontally.
In terms of what the style means, in GW its just a matter of looks... now in real life I'm sure most ppl will say that firing a bow horizontally won't generate the same amount of power as vertically.
